Everyone needs a purpose, a reason to get up in the morning and tackle life's challenges. Mine is to be part of the conversation, to think hard, to articulate what I believe is eternal truth. and to spread that truth. In a world full of darkness, I want to be the light I am commanded to be.

I believe that we have each been sent to earth to do specific things, and no one's life purpose or mission is more important than another's. Sure, some people have more reach (it seems), but it is all of us together, doing our part, that really matters.

About Me
Let's Get Acquainted
What can I tell you about me? Okay, well, I'm a mom of six kids, two amazing daughters and four outstanding sons. My hubs and I have 11 grands - so far - and look forward to a few more in the coming years. We live on a 133-acre raw milk dairy farm in Oregon, in a really big house (it's an event center, actually) where we host weddings and other events. John is retired and dabbling in real estate, and I'm hoping that some day I can get back to my writing, quilting, and gardening, because it's all I really want to do. We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and consider it a privilege to live in a day when traditional, Christian voices and lifestyle are needed in the world.
Because I know a bit about history, I really enjoy keeping up with current events and politics. I have a knack of seeing where history repeats, and where the scriptures enhance our understanding of both historical and present-day events. Most of those historical, political and religious discussions that we try to have these days are controversial - so what? Traditionally-minded folks such as myself are hushed from both sides of the aisle, either for being offensive to those on the Left or for being accused of stirring up contention from those on the Right. Neither view is either correct or helpful. I'm a strong believer in open conversation, and I'll pursue it no matter what.
I home educated my six children beginning in 1997, when my oldest son was going into 8th grade, and my youngest was still on the way. After some trial and error I found a simple and effective system that I believe set our family, and my children individually, on a successful path of a lifelong love of learning. Today those kids are professionals in the law, Occupational Therapy, accounting, mental health therapy, dentistry, and business. Not surprisingly, I have strong opinions on the public school system, especially now when DEI and CRT have corrupted what was left of anything resembling true education or life preparation. For anyone who is deciding to set their foot on this path, I can help you! I am also a certified life coach who can guide you through the process of improving your family systems and pursuing the freedom that home education offers.
I have had a very interesting if strange life, including a few years living in the bush of Alaska in a native American village during high school; marrying a man who (after our divorce) was convicted of homicide and is currently serving a life sentence; experiencing severe, suicidal depression; being a single mother with no formal education; becoming the wife of a serial entrepreneur; living with the sadness of an estrangement from my gay son; and my continuing quest to overcome some of the childhood trauma I experienced at the hands of an abusive mother. The one constant in my life has been my absolute faith in - and knowledge of - the love of my Heavenly Father and the reality of the atonement of His Beloved Son and my Savior, Jesus Christ. Without that core element in my life I'm more than sure I would not be here today.
